Having goals is one thing. Achieving them is another! Whether you are starting a small business, home business, network marketing business, losing weight whatever!!

Having goals is one thing. Achieving them is another! Whether you are starting a small business, home business, network marketing business, losing weight whatever!!

    It doesn't matter what your goal is. If it's serious enough and challenging enough then you need to have the help of your unconscious mind to achieve it.
    Here are 6 steps you can take to get your unconscious mind on side. Because quite often it can be doing its own thing and sabotaging your success!

1. Know your outcome.

    Write down what it is you want. Exactly. Be specific. I want to lose weight is no good. I want to lose 5kg by March is better!
    Same with wanting to have "lots of money" or a "new car". Again much too vague. You need to be able to describe exactly what it is you want.
    Set a date for when you want to achieve your goal.

2. Desire.

    Do you really really want it? Be honest with yourself and make sure it's your goal and not someone else's. You have to have a white hot desire for the thing you want. Thinking things like "well that would be nice". Your mind will not respond to that.

3. Purpose.

    This is your why. Why you are wanting to achieve this goal at all. What are the reasons and the purpose behind going for it. What, exactly, will it do for you, your lifestyle or your loved ones?
    Your why is critical. Because when the going gets tough. And it always will if you have big worthy goals! Then your why will pull you through when others will give up.

4. Take action.

    Ok so now you know what you want. You're clear on exactly what it is and you have a white hot desire to achieve it and you know why. So you have to take the first step towards getting what you want. Now it might be a tiny step, that's fine. But get into action, take one step at a time in the right direction and have the confidence this will get you there.

5. Flexibility.

    If something doesn't go to plan. Don't give up, just look for plan B! And be prepared to be flexible in how long it will take you to reach your goal.
    If you wanted to do it in 12 months. But didn't. Would you quit or just keep going changing things to make you more effective for the next year?
    When your baby learns to walk. We all encourage them every step of the way. We don't give them 6 months and then if they haven't learnt then say that's it, time up. You just say keep going, keep trying. And guess what nearly everybody walks.

6. Focus.

    What you focus on is what you will get. Be very careful about what you focus on! If you focus on what doesn't work or goes wrong then you will get more of the same. Focus on the positive and what you do want and it will get you through the obstacles.
