A Growing Trend

There's no doubt about it, the mail order business is a growing trend. Increasing numbers of consumers are choosing to purchase products through direct means rather than through retail outlets. Mail order businesses are experiencing incredible growth as more and more customers make it clear that buying from the convenience and privacy of their homes is the preferred way of shopping.

This growing trend has impacted on businesses in at least two significant ways in Australia. First, many businesses are utilising direct mail campaigns as a means of increasing their sales. The outdated idea that the only way to sell is to wait for the customer to come to the retailer has been replaced as businesses now offer their commodities and services virtually at will through well-researched mail order projects.

Almost any product or service can be marketed through mail order.

The second way in which mail order has helped to re-shape working patterns is by providing the average Australian with unique opportunities of setting up a lucrative home-based business.

Home-based businesses cover a wide range of levels of involvement. from the part-time hobbyist earning some extra pocket money to the big time operator. Mail order caters for the whole field of opportunity - part-time, full time, big-time. You choose!

What Is Mail Order All About?

Mail order is a sales business which operates from home. As a mail order operator you will probably never see your customers or have to sell to them on a one-to-one basis. All your selling will be done by sending out sales letters. brochures, catalogues. etc. Your customers will order by mail, fax, phone and email. Not all of these facilities are essential. But you should have a mailing address and a phone.

The products you will be selling will be either those you have created and produced yourself or you will be selling on behalf of others on a "dropship" basis. This means you do not carry any stock but simply get th.....
